INTRODUCTION

 

The Marine Information Centre is made possible through the ODINAFRICA project, an initiative of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, with the support of the Government of Flanders.

 

Presently, the NIOMR Library is being used as the information management centre, with the responsibility of sourcing, acquiring and making available marine information materials.

 

MISSION

 

To source, acquire and make available up-to-date information to support the intellectual and research needs of the institute, and users in general.

The library is specially equipped with collections covering:

  • Fisheries sciences

  • Aquaculture

  • Marine Geology/Geophysics

  • Fishing Technology

  • Physical/Chemical Oceanography

      DIGITIZATION

 

     The library Open Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is     online with full-text retrieval of resources in soft copies.
